Roman Kurzmeyer
Born in 1961 in Reiden (Switzerland), Dr. phil., curator and art historian.

He teaches at the Institute Art Gender Nature (IAGN) of the Basel Academy of Art and Design and is curator of the Ricola Collection.

His work focuses on examinations on the influence of the conditions of life and production on artistic practice in the 20th century, the making of exhibitions and publications as well as texts on contemporary art and exhibition history.

Since 2008 member of the board of trustees of the Camille Graeser Foundation, Zurich.
Since 2022 member of the Swiss Federal Art Commission (EKK).

2009 – 2018 Member of the commission of the Basler Kunstverein.
2009 – 2020 Member of the Acquisition Committee of the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Vaduz.
2016 – 2023 Board of Trustees of the Erica Ebinger-Leutwyler Foundation, Lucerne.

In 2004, he was awarded the Prix Meret Oppenheim and in 2012 the recognition prize of the St. Gallen Cultural Foundation.
